The short answer: Gamma is a presentation tool that also makes documents, websites and social posts, and LinkedIn carousels are one of the social formats it names. cropdot makes only LinkedIn carousels. If you already build decks in Gamma, or want one tool for slides, docs and social, Gamma fits better. If carousels are what you make every week, cropdot is set up for that one job.

Where Gamma is stronger
- One tool for much more. Decks, documents, websites and social posts from the same content, with PowerPoint and Google Slides on both ends. You can generate a Social page with AI, start one blank, or switch an existing gamma to the Social format, so a deck can become a carousel without starting over. cropdot makes carousels only.
- More ways to start. A topic, a blog URL, or a deck you upload; PDF and PPTX files import too. cropdot takes a topic or notes and imports nothing.
- Themes and images. Custom themes with your colors, fonts (including uploads), logo and even custom CSS, and themes imported from PowerPoint or Google Slides. AI images come from many image models, tiered by plan. cropdot has eight templates, six fonts and no AI images.
- Post from the app. Share, then Export, then LinkedIn posts the carousel straight to your personal profile. cropdot gives you a PDF to upload yourself.
- Integrations and teams. Claude and ChatGPT connectors on every plan, Zapier, Make and n8n, an API from Pro, and per-seat workspaces with SSO on Business. cropdot has no integrations and no team features.
Where cropdot is stronger
- Written as a carousel, not a deck. Gamma's AI serves presentations, documents, websites and social posts. cropdot's AI writes for one format: slides in the order people read a carousel, a first slide that makes a promise, the body, a closing ask. It writes that first slide last, once the point is clear, keeps headings to ten words or fewer and body text to 35. Type a topic, paste notes or dictate, and the slides appear in the editor one by one.
- Pages ready for LinkedIn. Every slide is rendered 1080 px wide, 4:5 by default, and every page of the PDF has the same size, which LinkedIn asks of an uploaded document.
- Details handled for you. Text turns dark on a light background by itself, long text shrinks to fit instead of being cut off, and highlighted words get ink that contrasts with the highlight. Your author block and logo carry over to the next carousel.
- A focused editor. Five tabs: Content, Background, Layout, Template, Brand, with undo, redo and autosave. Fewer settings than a full theme system, and less to learn.
On the posting side, Gamma does not schedule; its own social page points you to export to the scheduler of your choice. Its direct posting does not reach LinkedIn company pages either. cropdot neither schedules nor posts: you upload the PDF yourself, and LinkedIn accepts documents on company pages too. What it costs
Gamma's free plan gives 400 credits at signup that do not refill, up to 10 slides per prompt, and puts a “Made with Gamma” badge on PDF exports. Plus is $9 per seat a month, billed yearly, with 1,000 credits a month, up to 100 slides per prompt and no Gamma branding. Pro is $18 per seat a month, billed yearly, with 4,000 credits, custom branding and API access; headers and footers with a logo need Pro. Ultra is $90 per seat a month, billed yearly. Monthly billing costs more: Gamma says annual billing saves up to 28%.
