The short answer: PostNitro is the bigger tool. It makes carousels, images and short videos for six networks, can publish them on a schedule, and connects to other apps through an API. cropdot makes one thing: a LinkedIn PDF carousel, written from your topic or notes. If you post across networks or want publishing in the same place, PostNitro fits better. If LinkedIn carousels are what you make and the writing is what slows you down, cropdot keeps the path short.

Where PostNitro is stronger
- More networks, and publishing built in. PostNitro makes posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and Threads. From Creator+ up it publishes and schedules to five of them; X is export only. cropdot stops at the file: you download the PDF and post it yourself.
- More ways to start. Besides a topic or text, it takes an article URL or an X post, and it can pour your own text or a CSV into a template with no AI writing at all. cropdot takes a topic or notes and imports nothing.
- Real brand kits. Upload your licensed fonts, set colors, logos and headshots, and keep a separate kit for each brand you work for. cropdot remembers an author block and a logo, offers six fonts and has no font upload.
- More design range. Over 100 templates, your own saved templates, AI images from several image models on paid plans, and a freeform editor where you drag, resize and layer any element, even run one image across two slides. cropdot has eight templates and no AI images.
- Editing by chat. Nitro Chat, an AI agent in the editor, drafts an outline for you to approve, then changes slides, colors, fonts and canvas size on request.
- Video. MP4 export with audio turns a carousel into a short animated post. cropdot exports PDF and PNG only.
- Built for automation. An API, an MCP server, a command-line tool, and Zapier, Make and n8n connections. cropdot has no integrations.
- Try before you sign up. The carousel editor opens without an account; nothing is saved until you create one.
Where cropdot is stronger
- A draft in carousel shape. Both tools write from a topic. cropdot writes the whole carousel in the order people read one: a first slide that makes a promise, the body, a closing ask. It writes that first slide last, once the point is clear, and keeps headings to ten words or fewer. You can type, paste notes or dictate, and the slides appear in the editor one by one as they are written.
- Made for one format. Every slide is rendered 1080 px wide, 4:5 by default, and every page of the PDF has the same size, which LinkedIn asks of an uploaded document.
- Details that take care of themselves. Text switches to dark on a light background on its own. Text that runs long shrinks to fit instead of being cut off. Highlighted words get ink that contrasts with the highlight. Your author block and logo carry over to the next carousel.
- A focused editor. Five tabs: Content, Background, Layout, Template, Brand, with undo, redo and autosave. It does less than a freeform canvas, and there is less to learn.
What it costs

Which one to choose
- Choose PostNitro if you post on several networks, want scheduling in the same tool, need brand kits with your own fonts, or want video and an API.
- Choose cropdot if LinkedIn is where you post, you are happy to upload the PDF yourself, and you want a topic or a page of notes to become a finished draft you can edit.
